Daytona Sportbike, SuperPole from Barber Motorsport Park, May 1st 2009
The first rider on the track is Michael Barns and starts the time sheet with a 1:30.951. Tony Aquino takes the track second and immediately bumps Barns in the first split and the second crossing the line with a 1:30.292 to take the lead. Damian Cudlin is on the track now and jumps into first in the first split, first in the second with a time of 1:but crosses the line second with a time of 1:30.415. Zemke – fastest in one and in two he runs a 1:29.925 to take the lead but will it stand? Six riders to go…. Jamie Hacking takes the track, the Kawasaki’s haven’t looked very settled so far lets see. Jamie’s fastest in the first split and the second, (not looking good for Jake) he crosses the line with a 1:29.229 he’s on the provisional pole. Next up, Steve Rapp. he was second and third through the splits and finished third with a 1:30.128. Chaz Davis and the Ape, Davis is second in split one and two and holds to bump Zemke to third with a 1:29.319. Josh Herrin’s out three to go…Herrin takes the lead in the first split, he’s second in the second and will qualify third for now with a 1:29.417, two to go. Martin Cardenas is up, only the M4 bikes left. Martin is third in the first split and dropps to fourth in the second, he crosses the line with a 1:29.490 to take fourth, probably not what he was looking for. Jason DiSalvo, Suzuki’s last hope for pole. Jason’s fast but only third in the first split, and in the second but he makes it up and crosses the line with a 1:28.817 to grab the pole and be the only man in the 28′s.
