Team Sterilgarda has arrived in Qatar hoping to redeem itself for the unlucky Phillip Island round of two weeks ago. Last year in Doha the team scored some unique results as Max Biaggi finished second and third while Ruben Xaus took second place. Shane Byrne, after crashing twice at Phillip Island, is confident he can do well in practice in order to land a better starting position. The BSB champion knows the track and, as far as circuit knowledge is concerned, there will be no gap between him and the other riders as in Australia. The round will take place next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

MARCO BORCIANI – team manager: “I am confident that we’ll do better in the second round and we’ve already left what happened in Australia behind us. Shakey is psyched up in spite of the Phillip Island results. He is confident he can fight for the top spots and the team will do everything to help. In Doha, practice will be easier as our rider knows the track much better than the Australian one and he won’t need the first sessions to get to grips with the circuit. He will focus on the bike setup for which we will be using last season’s data”.
